Unfortunately I'm still a bit lost in the mix. I concur that the E30 M3 route is cheaper, which in theory means that it's available to more participants but also easier to get your buddies involved in.

However, I'm also consistently hearing that "if I had to do it again," I'd do the E36 326 or E36 M3 route. Slightly more expensive -- but more power, more fun(?), more competition(?), more applicable to SCCA events (presuming more seat time, bigger events, etc.)

I should point out that I don't own either today so it's cash out of pocket either way.
