So far so good. Since the accident was not my fault I am able to rent a car until I get mine back. I was sick of driving rental cars so I struck a deal with ICBC. They paid me $500.00 in lieu of renting for another month. The $500.00 just covered 6 months worth of insurance for my winter car (an ugly but reliable '84 rabbit). In respect to the dammage and repairs, I was a bit upset that they would not paint the rest of the car. The adjustor said that it would be blended nicely and that IF I did not like it they would then discuss the matter. Needless to say it would have been stupid to wait until half the car was painted and then get the other half done, so I bit the bullet and arranged to get the entire car done. I was also somewhat dissappointed about their decision regarding the front seats. Both my son and I were thrown quite hard into the seats when we were hit. I noticed that the seats were quite loose (backward and forward movement), more than it was prior to the accident. The body shop took the seats out and sent them to an "expert" and they (along with the adjustor) said the movement was due to natural wear and tear. I took the seats apart earlier this year and tightened everything up and I know for a fact that the seats are much looser now than before. I guess all I can do is "bit_h" some more to them. I did win a small battle with them though. Initially ICBC wasn't going to paint the rear trunk wing, even though I had noticed some "spider web" cracking. The body shop also noticed a slight cut in the wing and shipped it out to a "bumper expert." They agreed that the wing could not be repaired and I got a new one! I think the total in dammages to my car has now exceeded $12,000.00!!
