I've decided to change out the shift lever to shorten the throw in my 88 M#. When I looked on the unofficial BMW site it seems that all reference to this matter has been REMOVED.
Has anyone done this using the factory parts instead of buying the kit . It seems that there was forty or so pages on just this matter, I guess uuc must have sponsored someones race team or something, Oh well, any help would be greatly appreciated.

the year should not matter. have the parts guy at the dealer check to verify if the part numbers are the same for all years and if they are interchangeable with each other.
