I was wondering it smells like coolant a little bit when I turn the heater on but then the smell goes away!! No steaming on windsheild or leaking!!

well if it smells and then goes away it is usually the o-rings between the heater control valve and the heater core(they leak when cold and then expand as they heat up and stop leaking),if the smell is there all the time its the heater core leaking . orings are a .50 cent items and about 45 min to replace , the core is a $200 item and takes just a little longer to replace (it comes out the drivers footwell side of the heaterbox).if you do the core replace the control valve or you will be doing it again shortly as it will most certainly start leaking (due to a little guy named Murphy).
