Unless your car is producing some high HP numbers, you will actually lose power.
It will also be ungodly loud.
I have the supersprint resonator and a brullen muffler, and that is already loud, a few years back, i cut the resonator out and put straight pipes...meaning header straight to muffler, i actually lost some torque, but maybe gained a few way up top...and it was loud (a cop heard me 2 blocks away)

I met this guy this weekend that had a white 88M3 with a ss resonator and a Brullen exhaust. and he was comenting on how loud my exhaust was!
Many times I've had people come up to me and ask what size engine is in the car cause they think I have a small block or something. It's great to see their face when I tell them it's a little 4!

And to think, sometimes I want to put in a resonator as well
