Does anyone have experience driving both the Z3 (2.8) Coupe and the E30 M3 on the track, and if so would you be willing to give me your impressions/comparisons between the two cars? I placed a deposit on a E46 M3 about a year ago, but as of yet there seems to be no definitive information on it’s arrival - it seems it could easily be next fall or later before they are actually available. I have been using my son’s Z3 Coupe at driver’s schools. When we drive back to back (he in one session, me in the next session), the brakes get hot and mushy, and I worry about the stress on the car. Therefore I think I will look for a car to use at track events until the new M3 arrives. I am low on the learning curve, and the balance, handling, predictability and feel of the car is more important to me than the power. Thanks.
