I own 2 e30 M3s a 91 and a 88. I am also very active within the M3 SIG. from what I can see of the picture, that is a real M3. The slope of the rear window has the rear cap of the m3, the front and rear bumper covers are M3, the roof antenna is M3, the flares are M3, the wheels are M3, the tires looks to be 205-55-15 because of the thick black sidewalls. So I guess I am telling you thats an M3. I don't know if it has been re-painted and I think its pretty hard to tell from this picture. I work in the car industry and I have both paint and quality inspewction background and I can tell you that from this picture, there is no way I can tell you that its orginal or respray. With buyuing any e30 M3, you must see the car in person, bring someone with M3 knowledge with you, drive the car, look under the cars chassis, check engine leak down/compression.... I have brought 4 e30 M3s now so i can tell you that there are some really good examples and some really basket cases in any model year 88-91.
