The reason I ask is because the 225/45/16 are more expensive, and there are fewer from which to choose. I also have an 88 M5, and that's the tire size for it, so having two sets that would fit either car would be great. I guess I could do a swap sometime, but it's cold out here. I'm moving to Florida. I run 225/45/16's and you're absolutely correct, more dough and less choices.

I've seen a few people running the 225/50's but they were on stock suspensions, my car is on racing springs and they might rub in my car. One person who ran 225/50/16's was Tammi Hull in the One Lap in '99, Michelin somethings. I don't recall whether her street car is lowered or not, I think not.
