I do maintain that the later std spec cars did not come with all the E2 spec parts as you posted,,, at least not here in the US.
Maybe the late Euro spec ones were different, which would be quite confusing, but here in the States an early S14 is the same as a late S14.
Also the E3 intake rubbers have superceded all the intake rubbers, just like the E3 spec rotors have superceded the standard spec rotors.
I do appreciate all the info on your car, as I posted, we 'Mericans have only published info to go on regarding the special cars,,, which hopefully authors confirmed before publishing,,, but it is still odd that the BMW parts CD shows the 215HP engines with all the same mechanicals as the early engines. Maybe some of the technicians at BMW were having fun at the BMWs expense putting E2 spec stuff in Cecottos & Ravaglias when they were not supposed to have it.
Which Motronic unit does your car have?
I will check out my ECU and as my engine is about to be stripped will let you know on the high compression pistons, light flywheel and so on.
I was surprised to see that Paul's Cecotto had the lightweight panels and glass and was nervous when I bought my Cecotto that it wouldn't come with these parts but it did. I do agree with you that information given by the press and BMW is confusing ! They were all reputed to have half leather and silver dashes etc.....
Speak to you later, I'll send you some piccies as well when I have more time
