You need to have a qualified technician inspect the car before you purchase. It's also a good idea to set aside $2-3,000 for repairs after you decide to buy the car if you won't be doing the work yourself. I have yet to hear of a M3 that didn't need some maintenance (control arms, bushings, etc.) when changing hands but you may have some time considering the low mileage (under 60K).

not sure if you remember. i posted a picture of a red m3 the otherday. im now on vacation where it is located. and im making an appointment to check it out. i am what you would call a newbie when it comes to m3's. i am very interested in purchasing one. and it will be my first (have to start somewhere) what should i look at while inspecting this m3? it was said to have just under 60,000 miles. i am not farmilular with the area, so i dont have a mechanic handy. should i inspect the car myself? if so. what should i look at? any help here guys?
