My wife says that I'm having an affair with Ms. 3! But, I don't expect her to understand or have the same feelings for her 525iT as I do for my M3. Oh well, since this car is a keeper that I will never sell she will get over her jealousy eventually...
Yes, these are unique cars! Anyone see the E30 M3 (w/ Motorsports racing stripes) on TV this weekend in the background during a few scenes in Speedvision's replay of the Monterrey Historic races? My wife thought I was insane b/c I got excited about seeing an M3...
At any rate, I find many people from all walks of life find interest in my E30 M3. Walked out of my office the other day to find someone circling my car and then walked away shaking his head saying (in a low voice to himself) "Geez, that's such a nice a car..." I surprised him as we walked passed one another and I said "Thank-you." Of course, that struck up a discussion on E30's for a while...
The car has also captured the attention of inquisitive cops (while at the carwash), compliments from executives in 7 & 8 series, nods of respect from Mercedes & Porsche drivers (I'm a convert from the Porsche camp), and tons of interest when it (rarely fortunately) is at the repair shop or dealership.
All I can say is that BMW will most probably never create a car based on a similar concept of race-car modified for the street (instead of vice-versa). So, take care of your E30 M3s!!!!
