I am asking this because i am not familiar with the cost of metal fabrication. The cost of the turner reinforcements seems a little high for what they are. Could i not get similiar mounting brackets made for less? Or simply weld an extension and a piece at a right angle, with holes drilled into it myself? It seems to me that the idea is to transfer some of the stress on the mounting points to the additional mounting areas up through the trunk. The front reiforcements are no prob., but i want a better solution for the rear. Any ideas?

You're right, Turner's pieces are expensive for what they are. Reinforcement is a relatively simple concept. All you need is to find yourself a good fabricator who can cut and weld the metal pieces in place OR you can get Dinan's brackets but I'm sure they are not cheap either. A friend of mine is currently working on the pieces.
