I'm buying an M3 this weekend, I'm going to inspect it myself (the car has supposedly been thoroughly inspected and readied by the shop that's selling it). I plan to do a compression test, and I know the major M3 specific things to check for (indications of track use, specific sounds to watch out for, etc.) Anything else I should look out for? Also, for the compression test, other than unplugging the coil and pulling the fuse for the fuel pump, what else do I need to do before checking each cylinder? Should be done while car is warm, right? Also, what's the best way to check for clutch wear....I heard, put it in second and slowly let out the clutch....you want it to stall (sort of obvious). What other things should I be aware of. Thanks in advance.
