It would out run a normally aspired M3 w/S14 wouldn't it? That alone is reason enough to want one, I mean everyone is alway talking about getting more power from the E30 M3 on this forum but still it seems nobody wants to accept the E36 M3 as being a "true" M car (whatever that's supposed to mean).I think it's a good idea and probably cheaper than a 2.5 conversion which may or may not be faster. Just my 2 cents...

Depends. Are we talking about M50 or S50? The M50 would be a pointless mod. The S50 would be great but the engine itself is at least $5K + conversion factor. 2.5 conversions are much cheaper than this by at least a few grand.
