Keep it about 1/2 quart above full. I don't know how high on the dipstick that is, but I'm thinking in the 1/16" to 1/8" area. Even if you have the baffle, going around a cloverleaf trying to lose that ugly Mudstang in your rear view mirror will cause oil starvation--yes, even with the baffle. I think both Korman and Turner recommend 1/2 qt above full.

You'd have to fill it about 1qt above full to get the crank into the oil. Remeber that some of that volume gets shot up into the engine when you turn it on. The level when the engine is running is slightly lower than when it's stopped with all the oil drained back down.

Get the baffle, no matter what. It's CHEAP insurance. Korman's are sold as an exchange, Turner's are sold outright, no exchange, no core return. If you already have one, good.
