Hood release cable is broken...how do I open it? (archive)

I think my hood release cable is broken. I know there is a way to pop the hood with a flat screwdriver by sticking it somewhere inside the grille. Can any elabortate any further? Where exactly do I stick it. Do I have to turn it?
