On mine, one of the leads on the brake light switch was broken. That's the switch behind the pedal. It's really easy to check. Just pull the lower dash off (a few screws) and try it out while pushing on the leads a bit. See if that fixes it.If so, you can either try to solder it or something or buy the new switch. It's pretty cheap, I think.
BTW, I'm not sure if the brake lights were working when this happened so you might want to check right away. It seems like they wouldn't be.

Anyone have any ideas? I just had some bulbs replaced. Would an improper bulb lead to this?
