I've been reading the posts on the 'correctness' of adding an M badge to a car that didn't originally come with one. Let's see, when BMW made the M3 conv, they added 5 bolt hubs, bigger brakes, an S14 drivetrain, different bodywork, diff exhaust, diff interior. Hm, I've done all that to my car, and the red 89 has all that too. Why doesn't it deserve an M badge? My car has a salvage title, since it too THREE cars to build, but I don't care, and neither will anyone who has driven it. As long as I don't try to pass it off as an original, I think I am fully within my rights to proudly display the M logo on my car.
I have also swapped the S14 for an S52, but I'm leaving the M badge on the car, it just now says M3.2!!!
My web site is http://driversedge.com for those of you who haven't been there. Man, it would be fun to get these two cars together along with the 4 real ones in the US! Wouldn't that be a treat?!
let's try to get together when the weather is better . actually let's try an all m car show or weekend get together anytime is good for me .as for the badge who cares what the ourists think let them import one and see how far they get , if i went thru that i would be pn prozac by the end at least with this i know what i have and can enjoy it .
