Oh, man, I gotta say I was rolling in laughter reading Jonathon Porath's comparisons (in the URL of preceeding post) of the 740iL and E30 M3. If you haven't read it yet, you should--even if you could care less about the 7-ers.

Being of sound mind and body (or so I'm told), with a minimum of tooth fillings for my age (two, to be exact) I'm not afraid to own BOTH an E30 M3 and a '92 750iL. Not only does the 750 (aka "USS Nimitz") have the dining quarters off the promenade deck like the 740, but the engine room is filled to the gunwales with pistons, intake funnels, and enough electronics to qualify as an electronic-warfare vessel.

I've also had the Nimitz out on the track (Second Creek Raceway near Denver) a couple times, and I can tell you that while it's an impressively agile aircraft carrier, it certainly isn't a match for a stock E30 M3 (which our is, for all intents and purposes). So, if no one's stepped up to the plate and done battle to preserve the valor and dignity of the mighty E30 M3, I hereby offer my humble services. Duane, are you listening? Drop me a line if you want to know what the dates of our Spring driver's school are.
