It does sound like the altenator. This happened to me recently, when I turned on the air recycler, the lights dimmed. The battery should have been fully charged since I drove it for awhile. I thought it was the battery, and I purchased another. If you need a battery I the brand new Insterstate MTP battery. It still in the plastic wrapper, just in case.
