Update on tie rod...... (archive)

Well I finally removed the old tie rods. I seriously recommend using a pipe wrench. I actually broke the locking tab with the pipe wrench...you don't have to unbend the tabs. Well know I have another little problem. There are two sizes for the locking tabs. I used the larger ones since the smaller were too small to bend over the tie rods. These larger ones, however, don't allow the steering wheel to turn as much. The larger tab actually hits the rack opening therefore not allowing a full lock turn. Has anyone here ran into the same problem?
