I see 6.5 to 8.0 ft/lbs. and E8 size nuts.

I don't know about the idle control valve. How much are they? What are the exact symptoms when it is bad?

-Jon

From what I have read a bad ICV can toast the DME. It also makes the idle bounce from 500 to 1200 rpm hunting for the correct rpm. Off the top of my head I think they cost around $125.

I am getting ready to do the dreaded intake gasket replacement. I am also going to install all new vacuum hoses. The only torque values I have been able to find for the Torx bolts is 6.5 to 9.0 ft/lbs. This seems pretty light. Is this correct? What size is the Torx socket required? Also I am going to clean my Idle Control Valve using WD-40. Would it be better to just replace it? I have around 90,000 miles on the car. I would really appreciate this information. Thanks in advance.
