Maybe some good used seats would be worth considering. For the smokey smell, spray the headliner and carpet with Febreeze and this will get rid of the smell unless the guy was a chimney. You can get it in any grocery store. It has enzymes that neutralize smoke, food, pet smells, mildew and so forth.

Thanks for the tip, Stan. The guy who is selling it had it detailed so the carpets, headliner, and seats have been cleaned/conditioned recently (and new throw mats installed) which made a big difference. Still, driving it completely 'closed up' for a while does make one aware of a lingering odor...
