Normal cleaing and shampooing won't get rid of smoke smells. As soon as the detergent fragrance is gone the smokey smell wil return. The Febreeze stuff works very well. It gets rid of the odor COMPLETELY if you can get it onto any / all affected materials. Dirt cheap too. I think it's intended for use around the home, for pet problems and similar odor issues.
