My point is not that cooling the intake air wont benefit performance. We have all been over the Physical attributes of how you can fit more air into the same area if it is cooler. But i was just commenting on the "ram" in your post. I have built a heat shield for mine and i definitely notice a difference. When i park, and feel the inside of the shield and filter vs. the side exposed to the engine, it is much much cooler. When it would swap out this setup for the Evo setup i felt it was better with the CAI intake, but when i recently pulled my bumper off, i discovered that despite the bigger Evo box and Plastic intake trumpet, it was still the old style trumpet. So not all plastic ones are evo. SO now i have more comparing to do.
