Check it over even MORE carefully because IMO it increases the chance that the car just might NOT of been looked after so good.

Consider the reasons why it might have so many owners. Here`s a couple

1. Possibly none were enthusiasts and didnt look after it. Just another fast car that they abused without the proper maintenance then sold only to move onto the next fast car.
2. Couldnt afford it and maybe didnt look after it..

Many other possibilities.......

Actually what is probably more important is how long each previous owner kept it for. If the car is 12 years old and each owner kept it for 4 years that isnt so bad. However if one owner kept it for 9 years but the last 3 owners kept it for 1 year each that is much more worrying.

You really have to be a bit paranoid when buying an M3. Just think "this car might need a lot of work" then check `em out to make sure they dont before buying it!

i am currently in pursuit of an m3. it was carfaxed [thanks frank] and it looks good. nice low mileage etc etc. BUT there have been 4 owners. my first instinct tells me "uh oh" but what do you think? the owner TOLD me there were 4 owners. so its a good thing hes honest, but do you think 4 is too much?
