Realistically, you won't find one with under 100K miles for under $12K. Do not be afraid of mileage in the low 100's though. As others have said, it's all in how well the car was cared for. Buy one that has a well documented service history AND get it checked out before you hand over any cash. I'm at 145K miles on the original motor and it's running strong. However, I'm not going to wait til it blows to do the rebuild! Good luck!

Hey guys. I have been looking for a E30 M3 for about 1.5 yrs now. I am looking for one with 60-90k miles for around $12,000. I have seen them around but are a very rare find. Should I ignore those M3s with 110k-150k miles on the original motor. I have noticed that around 115k-130k the motors start to go. I dont want to buy a car for 12,000 and then turn around and put another 6500 into a new motor. What do you guys think about this?? Do you think I should just give up on a M3 and buy a E30 325is??
