O.k. maybe I was confused about which car actually came without a catalytic converter but you do speak of a factory resonator and that is what my original question was about - Price? weight? part number? any disadvantage to using it over an aftermarket one? I wouldn't dream of chopping up my nearly new cat. but I would chop/weld the old one that I removed if an advantage in horse power could be gained. I was thinking that a jig could be built using the old center section, the cats could be cut off and new small resonators rewelded to it. Of course I haven't even researched to see if such resonators exist but the X section would already be there and the bends would be perfect. It'd have to be less than the $400.00 for aftermarket. Thoughts??
