In Reply to: I'm doing that today...Question posted by Dave on March 02, 2001 at 08:42:29:

Today I am putting in the crossovers, I wired it up yesterday. I like your idea of putting them in the glovebox, that is where mine are going. But here is my question. I took out the woofers from the kick panel, and unplugges all the wires going to it. I can only see one of the wires that goes up the the tweeter. Where is the other one? The blue/green one is down in the kick panel, but for the life of me I can't find the blue/yellow one. Do you know where BMW put it? I don't want to have to rewire those tweeters through the door jam. Thanks for the help

from what I know the tweeter is grounded somewhere in the door pannel. when you take out the woffer look at the back of it. the crossover is piggybacking the magnet. there are two imput connections and only one output for the tweeter. I would advise running new wire to your tweeters anyways. I'm going to use 14 guage RC cable from monster (in wall home wire) it's going to be a PINTA to get that big fat wire through the rubber boot thinge that connects the door (you know what I mean)

running the wire to the tweeter isn't fun, this is how I did it with the crappy fosgate speaker whire.
1. Get a good sized wire (coat hanger will work)
2. fish is through the rubber boot thing
3. make a loop on the wire, kind of like the eye of a needle
4. loop your speaker wire through the "eye" thread about 6-8 inches through
5. pull
6. you probably will have to massage the rubber thing to get the coat hanger and speader wire without haveing the coat hanger rip through the boot. Took me about 1/2 hour to do both, but this is the 3rd time I've done it (had a 325e and 325es before)
Hope this helps
