While cruising around this evening I noticed the left side of my dash is dark. The area in question is around the headlight switch. Firstly is this are suppose to be lit up? Secondly, if so, how do you get at it.

Yes, it should be lit. To change the light bulb you have to acess the back of the light switch and to accomplish this remove the upper kick panel trim. there are three plastic screw in front that you have to turn 90 degrees from its orig.position. and onother one under the steering colum.and it is also supported at the bottom just where the brake pedal with some plastic support
that is attach to the steering collum. after you remove the 4 fastener lower it slightly about halfway down and unplug the chime module connection. you might be able to replace the
light bulb with out removing the light swich assy.
but it would be akward as you have to lie down
with your back.the ABS computer is in the way
so you might have to remove it out of the way also. goodluck
