Started the car this morning and the alternator/water pump belt was squealing. Water pump pully motionless. Feared the worst and checked the coolant. It was still liquid so that wasn't it. Phew!
Took off the belt and the pulley spun very freely. Then it "caught" a couple times. The "catch" is accompanied by a little clunk. Mostly it spins easily. Too easily...
1. Is there a clutch in the pulley?
2. Could somebody email me a brief outline of the procedure to replace the pump? Anything special about bleeding the system etc.?
The only stuff I can find here is in German!
