if your the full time driver under the car, you will be screwed by the insurance company. have your parent's go on as full time driver for the M3 and you pick up another car. plus gas isn't cheap for this car. I average about $20 a week, and it's my daily driver.
I would seriously consider an E30 325is, they are almost as quick as the M3, and are far less insurance, far less maitnence, and far less of a girl catcher :( But I race my buddy in his 87 325superETA and up to 3rd gear we are even. Now when it gets curvy, the M3 definetly pulls out the victory.
