No, sucking at the nipple is not the best method (assuming we're still talking about brakes).

What you want to do is pressurize the system and then bleed at each caliper. I've never used the "JP brake bleeder" but I have used compressed air (with a regulator of course) in conjunction witht the Steve D' cap.

I am going to build a "JP brake bleeder" and use that from now on though....
