Is it possible that the wider Evo III fenders and inserts could have been in place before and were replaced with standard M3 fenders? This is the only thing I can think of, especially since your wheels are only 16x8. The left Evo III fender and insert part numbers are 41 35 2 232 977 and 51 71 2 232 763. The left standard part numbers are 41 35 1 976 051 and 51 71 1 935 841. Perhaps you could check to see if one side is noticeably wider than the other.
Nice Bimmer. I hope you get everything sorted out.

Hi guys,
My car is currently in at the dealers having a new fender, inner arch and the plastic inner arch put on the car(due to someone hitting the passenger side fender back in December). I was due to pick up the car this evening but have just had a phone call from the dealers saying that they are having problems with my car. It has 16*8 inch wheels on the front of it but apparently the inner arch has been modified at some point to allow the wheels to fit without rubbing? Ehhhh? I dont think the car has been lowered at all, and I shouldnt think it has spacers or anything on it. The tyres are 225 * 45`s and the car was imported with these tyres already on it.
Anyone know what this is all about? ANy possibly mods done which might require arch modifications?
See pic below - does the front wheel clearance look normal for a car with 16*8 wheels on the front? I always thought things looked a bit *close* inside the wheel arch myself.
