in the parking garage at work (this was my 93 325is, since sold to accomodate the E30 M). They must've been backing out of the spot next to mine, and they tagged the driver's side door, just under the molding. Do you think they stopped and remaneuvered their car to avoid doing more damage?? NO! They kept on pulling out, leaving a nice 3 foot long blue streak and dent along the bottom rear quarter of my car. I was furious...I looked all through the garage every day for 2 weeks, looking for the blue car with white on his bumper. Never found him. Good thing for him, cause all I could envision doing was kicking a huge dent in the side of his car for driving like an A-hole, and not leaving me a note. It's impossible to keep a nice car here in the DC area, either you'll get hit, door dings, bumper scrapes, or they'll key your car. I drove my roomate's Boxster to the grocery store for a case of beer a few months back. I parked away from everyone in an attempt to avoid dings. Some jealous prick kindly placed two nails, side by side under my rear tire. So that weekend, I had to buy a new tire for my roomate's car....$300! That was the most expensive case of beer I've ever bought!
