I'm doing this conversion now. I know exactly what you need if you decide to do it. It's not
difficult. You will need to have the sensor
locations welded to the tranny, but the 2002 have
to do that also, same with the oil pan. The 320
pan works fine with a baffle. Most 2002 conversions use the 2002 pan with a baffle also.
You can use the Gruppe A two piece header with
the 320, it won't fit in the 2002. You can use
the S14 fan clutch & fan in the 320, but not in'
the 2002 where you will need to rig up an elec.
fan. The fuel lines in the 320 are ready to go
unlike the 2002 where you will need to modify
them and the fuel pump. I know a guy who has a 2002 w a S14 in it and he says he thinks it would be better in a 320. It really does not matter which car it goes in, just which car you prefer to drive. The advantage of the 2002 to the 320 is it weighs less. The one big thing that he does not
say is you will need to upgrade the brakes, but
that needs to be done on the 2002 also. Oh and the stock motor mounts work fine, but then again
what are you going to do with it? There are all
kinds of things you can do to make it better.

it fits in a 2002 so it will fit though you have to fabricate motor mounts and you need a different transmission as the s-14 M3 uses a 265 getrag (same as a 5,6,7 series )tranny ,and the transmission tunnel is not big enough for this tranny so will need modification to the tunnel as will the drive shaft and you will need a stronger differential , and of course massively better brakes (one thing leads to another or so they say)

I don't know if this is the right place for this question but i'm out of luck tryong to find answers. Iwould like to know if anyone here kmows if a M3 S14 engine will bolt into an E21 320i with some modification. If you know please give me any info no matter how insignifiant.
Thanks in advance
