The ABS light does not come on when starting the ignition and no warning light when the car is being driven. The only indication is that the brakes lock up during heavy braking when the ground is wet. Any suggestions to diagnose the problem would be appreciated.
You should check all the sensors at each corner, use a multi-meter and check for a resistance of about 600-800 ohms.
If they're all OK, check the ABS relay under the kneed bolster on the driver's side (silver relay?) If it's suspect, get a new one.
BTW a little lock up is normal in low friction surfaces. Does the pedal pulsate at all?
