It is not one of the connectors. I'm sure it is a part you could go buy at the dealer. If I had an ETK, I would look for you. I also couldn't see it too well as I am at work, but it might have a PN on it.
It is about 3in x 2in x 1in and both of the connectors plug into one side of it.
Since your connectors seem to be intact, I'd definitely try to get the box and plug them in. Unless they swapped leads into the connectors, which wouldn't make any sense, doing this should make it right.
I just checked, and I can't find any connectors or black box around the wheel, maybe the black box is one of the ends with the "modified" wiring? I did notice however that one of the leads does go to the rear light cluster, maybe this is why I have no back up lights? or sparatic brake lights? This is going to be fun fixing. My next car is going to be a virgin as far as electrical modifications go, my current one is a nighmare! (Left fog light wire, under the right high beam!!!!)
Those two connectors should go into a little black box that is attached to a metal bracket above the wheel, next to the trunk hinge.
I don't know what the purpose of the box is. Maybe check control or something? Obviously, not all wires are used on your car. It looks like that is the main harness for the entire back of the car, i.e. tail lights, brake lights, etc.
Does your brake light check light ever come on? Mine does. Maybe the P.O. didn't like it so they cut it out of the picture. I'm just speculating here.
Was your factory amp just laying in there like that or are you in the middle of something?
BTW, there is no black stuff in my trunk. It looks like either a fire or some black paint. You could tell better than I could.
was replacing the rear shock mounts when I noticed this custom job from the previous owner (or somebody)
check it out
also i just noticed, what is that black stuff on the rear quarter? Fire? I hope not!
any idea what those are supposed to do? can somebody see what there clips do since the white and black harnesses don't line up.
there is a missing pig tail between the black connector and the white connector. who ever
did the instalation on the aftermarket amp can not duplicate the original harness so he just connected it that way. about the black color
it look like somebody did a body work on your car
you know they heat up the sheet metal to straighten them up. rogerJ.
BTW the little Black box is the flight
data recorder. ha ha ha no it is the orig amp.
