your radio is picking up the a/c current from the alternator,prolly a bad or missing capacitor on the alternator(it absorbs the the errant a/c voltage ) that is carrying down the wires to your radio (thats what your hearing in your speakers)

When driving my 88M3 I hear an electric sound that reminds me of a dentists drill. The pitch rises with the rpms. When I turn on the radio it's even more pronounced. Does anyone have any ideas on what might cause this?
