I agree..$16.5K with 72K+ is not exactly a bargain. I paid $11.8K for a nice relatively stock '88 with 94K miles and recently bought a two owner '88 with 53K miles and all records for $15K. I'm sure there are other nice cars out there within the budget $15K but if you want it now "peel" of the C-notes and hold firm to your price.

Decide what u want to pay for it and stick to that figure. If the deal passes through your fingers then it just wasn`t meant to be yours!

Are u sure others are seeing the car, or is he just telling u this hoping u will raise your game to his price? Bit of a "out to get me" thought there but worth considering

as a little over 7 months of car hunting has passed by. i have finally found, what im hoping, will be MINE. the only problem now is price. the seller is asking 16.5k FIRM. and although the car is in prestine condition with a mere 72k that price is a little over my head. im aiming for a nice 15k.[there are some good mods] BUT the thing is. other people have been looking at the car. i dont want to offer 15, and have him toss me in the 'your a joke' pile. how can i be professional about trying to get 15k [which, i think, is a very decent price] ....
