Turn the key to position 2, and see if the ABS light comes on. If not, then replace the bulb. Then restart the car and rev the engine a bit (to get the dash lights to go out). Is it still on? Then you have a relay or bad ABS controller. If it comes on after you start driving, then you have a bad wheel sensor, a clogged pulse ring, or your front tire diameter is too different than the rear tire diameter.

If the bulb does not come on, you probably have a bad ABS pump. Call bimmerworld if you need any new or used parts. They have half their workshop stocked with good, used parts, including ABS units and the like.

Good Luck!
