...I had your exact same problem. The body shop that replaced my drivers door left the trim from the donor door on! So I have silver paint under my window trim (henna car). I'm sure they didn't take the trim off because they would have had to buy all new trim. Now, if the bozos had simply ASKED me about it in the first place, I would have said, yes, go ahead and remove it and I'll pay for new pieces, but noooo....

After I got my car back I replaced all the trim on that door myself because what was on there from the donor door was all scratched up - like they didn't think I would notice? Anyway, getting the stuff off is a bitch. I bent all three pieces removing them, so I just bought all new ones and new clips too, because these get bent as well. Fun!

If you want something done right...

was the new trim expensive? did the new trim match? even thought you scratched the paint upon removal did you repaint it or seal the bare metal? i am going to remove the pass door trim and that is it, i dont want to bend it up and then put on a new piece that is all shiny and the rest of it be dull!! maybee i will repaint all of the trim? maybee henna, the same color of hte car? any ideas?
