Try www.pagasusautoracing.com They sell the "titan check up engine analysis" yaa daa ya Check them out for yourself the kit sells for $31.19 that includes everything including a prepaid mailer to send out your oil sample. And they give you a 4month/4k mile/$1000 engine protection warranty. Never used one myself but my dads a diesel mech. and he says the trucking industries swear by them. Me I'm skeptical. I'll stick to redline and factory filter every 3k. Unless the masses here all agree there is a better reason than "it would be cool". I would like to have more info myself before making a decision..........

Does anyone use an oil analysis program to test their engine and oil conditon periodically? My dad does oil analysis on his airplanes and I was thinking of sending in a sample of my oil M3's oil in. Apparently, you can run on the same oil until your report states that you are due for a change - around 12,000 miles (with a filter change at 6,000 mi). This is according to Don Stevens in his article on bmwe30.net. I don't think I'm quite ready to alter my current maintenance schedule, but I do think further research on the subject of oil analysis is in order. Does anyone have thoughts on the issue?

Here is a blurb from the AMSOIL website:

"Using Oil Analyzers, Inc. (OAI) oil analysis services is now easier than ever. Customers simply collect samples using the OAI all-in-one sampling kit and mail them in the pre-addressed, postage-paid packages to the OAI lab. That's all there is to it -- pull and sample and drop it in the mail!

The OAI technical team does the rest. They combine their years of analytical experience with state-of-the-art instrumentation to produce reliable, meaningful results from customer samples.

Testing is completed within 24 hours of a sample reaching our lab. Results are reported by fax, mail, or in the case of an impending equipment failure, by telephone. Reports are easy-to-read and include interpretation and recommendations. And because the tests performed on customer samples are tailored to each customer's machinery, they get data that applies directly to their equipment and maintenance decisions."

Take care.
