Check the vapour barrier in the door (behind the door panel). Over the years the adhesive on the plastic barrier pulls away from the door. This barrier is VERY important as it prevents the water from coming into the vehicle. The door is made to allow water to flow through and drain to the outside. When this barrier fails the water can make its way into the car. I had a similar problem which resulted in water pooling in the rear passenger foot wells.
