There are some BMW dealers in Roundel that advertise mail-order parts at 25% off list to BMWCCA members. There is also www.irontoad.com that sells at 20% off list to anyone. The muffler is $276 there and the two clamps are $53 each if you don't already have them.

Is there a cheaper place to get a stock muffler? I would go for a used one yet my muffler looks new and sounds fine until you hit about 5k and then it becomes mr. residence!! I hate that buzzy noize, it is my fault to, i did about 50 miles of back road driving in 100 degre temps and the inner waffles just got to hot! time for a (new) replacement! any help would be awsome!!
