Hi all

Wanted to share our recent experience with upgrading the S14 motor and general mods to the E30.....seems to me there are lots of peple out there offering advice with very little practical experience to back it up.

Engine - we took a stock S14 and converted it to (almost) 2L super tourer specs. Oz made billet crank & rods, lightweight 12:1 pistons, ARP head stud kit, big port job by local firm, reasonably big cams (but not outrageous), tuned length headers by local fabricator, carbon fibre air box (OK, this is an MTec item..), Motec M4 engine management. Result? Around 250hp - with standard valves. We made our own plug leads from 8mm wire and suitable ends in about 30 minutes. Now remember, this is a 2L engine, not some hot 2.5L. Much of this is simply good engineering practice which is reasonably economical to do. Proves you don't need to pay HUGE money for factory ///Motorsport products to get an S14 to produce good power.....
