My Girlfriend just bought a 2001 Mazda Miata. she came and picked me up from work and was driving it pretty hard. She told me that the sales guy told her to drive it hard to "clear the junk" out of the engine. I've never heard this about new BMW's what I've always heard is to keep it easy for the first couple thousand miles.

Who is right? how many miles should we keep it under control?
thanks
