Theoretically once the nut is off at the lever, I should just be able to yank the cables out from the rear of the car--or at least, it appears that way but the cables don't budge.
all I've succeeded in doing is ripping the rubber hose out of the crimped metal end that is set the tube that leads to the interior.
What's the secret? There's not much room to play with down there. Are the ends somehow bonded to the metal tube? I've drenched the suckers in liquid wrench... I'll try again later. But any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
George
I replaced mine a couple of years ago. Where the crimped end is inserted into the metal tube over time they practically get welded together. I used liquid wrench and worked on it for a long time by twisting the rubber tube back and forth and finally it came free. Seeing as you already removed the rubber tube maybe you could use long handled pliers or something. Good luck.
