I bought my 1990 w/ 80K miles a year ago for $9500. I knew it hadn't had much "normal" maintenance recently, i.e. belts, valve adjustment, and hoses. I knew I would have to replace some stuff.

Does the one you are looking at have:

A recent Inspection II?
New hoses?
Newish shocks?
New tires?
Mint interior?
Sparkling paint?
Other recent repairs?

My point is that, for $15K, you should get a pretty well sorted out 85K mile car. If all the little stuff that these cars need after 10 or more years of life have not been done, your $15K could quickly turn into $20K. If you pay $10K for the car, expect to fix stuff soon but don't pay $15K for a $10K car.

Everyone,

I found an 88 M3 for sale in my area. It has 85K miles of which 63K were put on by 1993 (the current owner purchased it at this time). It is covered, garaged and has synthetics throughout. Pretty much stock except for chip and air filter.

The owner is asking 16K for it, and I wanted to ask the experts if this was a reasonable price for it.

Thanks for any help.

Joe
