Is it normal for the coolant hose(the large hose that connects radiator and coolant pipe) to compress after the car is turned off?....the temp before turning off the car was a little below the halfway mark.

The sign of a bad hose is if it's all soft and it looks bulging around the hose clamped areas.

I'd say replace it just to be sure and safe yourself grief in the future. Hell, replace all of them if it has never been done.
